I would like to order this kit but I was wondering if the PIC has already been programmed?

Jameco will reship if the PIC isn't programmed

I just received the kit, built it and tried the test step of putting +12V on pad 4 and ground on pin 3 and did not get the 1 second beep from the buzzer.

Other ideas for testing? Can I keep +12V on pad 4 and ground pad 3 to trace with my O-scope?

Or, I could add jumpers J1, J2, and J3 and complete the circuit path. Thanks for posting the Eagle CAD files.

I would suggest adding a note to the build instructions about adding the jumper wires using some solid 26 ga. wire. I didn't find anywhere that these jumpers were mentioned as needing to be connected. :)

Hmm, the jumpers are 'parts' as well, but since they don't come packaged I guess you could miss them...thx for noticing.
