From Richard of Houston, TX: I stayed at an Arizona hotel a few weeks ago for three nights. The hotel HVAC controller monitors motion in the room. If there is no motion, there is no AC and no mechanical over-ride. Every night of my stay I was awakened at about 3:00AM by extremely hot, stagnant air. As soon as I got out of bed to check the AC setting, the AC came on and cooled the room down. But it was too late; I was already wide awake. What can be done to keep the system active while sleeping?
